Tommia was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythmatosus, which was the diagnosis that turned her life in an unpredictable direction. For years, being determined not to give in, she gracefully struggled to finish her degree while battling crippling pain, flares of her lupus, serving in ministry, and loving on her family and friends. Eventually she married the love of her life, Pastor Alexis Brookins. Her story birthed a commitment to those battling with the disease.
